There will be another new Apex Legends character added to the game’s roster before Season 1 wraps up. The Sony Apex Legends page on the PlayStation website has revealed that two new characters are expected for Season 1, meaning Octane will be joined by someone new at some point over the next twelve weeks.
Developer Respawn Entertainment has already provided players with an Apex Legends roadmap, and it’s already been noted within that outline that new characters would arrive with every season. We never knew exactly how many characters each season would offer, however, and with Octane having already been released and no indication of another major announcement in the near future, it was fair to wonder if a new Apex Legends character would make an appearance before the next season began.
The news that we should expect a second new Apex Legends character emerged from Sony’s PlayStation page for the game, which noted that “two new characters will launch over the course of the season” complete with a full set of cosmetics each. The website essentially makes it clear we’ll be getting another hero within the next twelve weeks, which is how long Season 1 will last. Season 1’s second Legend could be a number of different possibilities, too, which should only make speculation leading up to their release that much more intense.
Apex Legends datamining has been a hot button topic in the game’s community, but despite Respawn’s insistence that the information won’t always be trustworthy, we’ve at least got some idea of what the next several Legends names will be: Crypto, Husaria, Nomad, Prophet, Rosie, Skunner, Jericho, Rampart, and Wattson, according to the Apex Legends Twitter account ApexLeaksNews. Of all of those, the character that players know the most about is Wattson, a new Apex Legends character who should be themed around electricity-based attacks thanks to a leak from RealApexLeaks regarding his Tesla Trap ability.
While it’s been confirmed we’re getting a new Apex Legends character in Season 1, Respawn hasn’t officially indicated when we should expect that. The most likely scenario would be around six weeks in, since it would mark the halfway point in Season 1 and would probably be around the right time to introduce something new into the game after players had experienced much of what this season has to offer. Respawn has been pretty good about teasing new characters and providing the community with information when necessary, though, so don’t expect to be in the dark on the new Apex Legends character for too long.
