Now that we’ve just seen the release of Octane as Season 1 of Apex Legends gets underway, it looks like there’s still even more to come. The game’s Reddit community has been a hive of activity as of late, and users have now compiled a list of rumored Apex Legends upcoming content based on footage from promotional footage and photos.

With plenty of time left in Season 1, these rumors about what to come next appear to suggest at a variety of ways to spice up the current Apex Legends experience and to take it to new explosive heights. Some of the potential Apex Legends upcoming content could very well pad out the game and make it more fully-featured, especially considering the new champion that was just announced.

Reddit user FrozenFroh has put together an informative post compiling the rumors and the community’s speculation around Apex Legends upcoming content. The post ticks off a number of boxes when it comes to stuff that we could potentially see in Season 1, including a Thunderdome map, a new weapon, new beasts, and a new character.

Apex Legends Upcoming Content: Thunderdome Rebuilt

The Thunderdome map was leaked quite a few months ago when someone in the Apex Legends Reddit community discovered a post in the Titanfall subreddit of a Battle Royale minimap featuring, you guessed, the Thunderdome. Now, it’s being suggested that the teaser for Octane and Watson contains a newspaper advertising King’s Canyon. It’s speculated in the Apex Legends upcoming rumor post that the Thunderdome is going to be revealed as a new part of King’s Canyon later on in Season 1, and that it’s going to be adjacent to Skulltown. The post appears to insinuate that the Thunderdome may be used for a new game mode, noting specifically that it would host “high-tier loot during competitions”.

Apex Legends Upcoming Content: L-Star Weapon

The post on Apex Legends upcoming content also makes mention of a new weapon. This is allegedly the weapon currently being wielded by Bloodhound on the game’s login screen, and it has also featured as being equipped by Pathfinder in the trailer for the Wild Frontier content. The post notes that the L-Star will use Legendary Ammo and be an Energy weapon, and that players are going to be able to make use of it soon this season.

Apex Legends Upcoming Content: Repulsor and Flyers

The community has speculated that promotional photos advertising Season 1 of Apex Legends have shown the Leviathans from Tiatanfall scattered around the map. One landmark of the current Apex Legends map is the area marked as the Repulsor - a structure used in Titanfall to drive Leviathans and their ilk away. On the map in Respawn’s latest title though, this Repulsor is broken which could well explain the presence of the Leviathans in the images, and potentially also hint at the inclusion of Flyers. It’s also mentioned in the Apex Legends upcoming content rumor post that if Flyers end up in the game, players might be able to mount them or use them as a means of defense. Because of the sheer size of Leviathans, it’s not impossible to imagine that they would pose significant obstacles to players during matches; they’re likely to kill you if you stumble across the wrong one at the wrong time, and it may be that they spawn randomly within the matches.

Apex Legends Upcoming Content: Wattson

The Apex Legends upcoming content post speculates that the next character to be released in the game is Wattson, supposedly also named Natalie Paquette. The post notes that it’s likely that Wattson will be available in a few weeks - recent leaks have mentioned both her basic concept and what she looks like. She appears to be part of the trailer that Octane is in, and the post notes that two Wattson guns are already in the game. The only real information out there about Wattson is her ability to use Tesla Traps, but it’s likely only a matter of time til we get the full picture.

There’s still plenty of time left in this first season for more information to be released, and it could be that these Apex Legend upcoming content rumors are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to illustrating what Respawn Entertainment has planned for this content cycle. One thing’s for sure - waiting for Wattson is going to be a mission and a half.
