Reports are coming in that a list of App Store and iTunes services are currently down for users. Those affected are prevented from logging into their accounts, downloading and updating apps, or streaming previously purchased content. Apple’s system status as of 05:33 PM EST doesn’t list any services as being out, but tweets directed at Apple’s official support account seem to indicate otherwise.

Liam McLoughlin on Twitter has stated that he is running into issues at the time: random messages coming up saying purchases cannot be made at this time, and that he is have trouble logging in. Today’s outage comes a few weeks after a previous widespread outage took out Apple Music, iCloud Music Library, and iCloud. Apple has previously remained quiet when these outages occur, relying on using the System Status page to communicate to customers of any issues. Zac Hall had previously delved into how Apple should better handle these situations, especially when they expect customers to put more faith in them for future cloud-based services.

@AppleSupport Why isn’t the iTunes store working on my iPhone right now? Can’t download an app.

We’ll continue to monitor the issue and update when they appear to be resolved. If you are experiencing any other issue not noted by the App Store being down, you may reach out to Apple through their support. Feel free to reach out to us at @9to5mac or @gregbarbosa with any other error messages you may be receiving.

@AppleSupport I can’t sign in to my account on any of my devices. Can you see if I’m locked out or something?
