Apple is making its App Store a bit more social. The company today opened up a new Twitter account dedicated to the App Store’s gaming section. The account, @AppStoreGames, is yet to be officially verified by Twitter, but it was retweeted this morning by the official and verified @AppStore account, which launched a few years ago.

The description for the new gaming-focused account indicates that posts will be curated, as the description reads: “Embrace the future of gaming. Straight from our Games Editors.” Interestingly, the opening of this account comes about a week before the new Apple TV will be announced, and the new box carries a heavy focus on gaming.

Apple confirmed to Buzzfeed that the new Twitter account will include “weekly features like game previews, tips, and interviews with developers.”

We first learned of Apple’s plans to switch to editorially curated lists for its App Store game categories a few months back. Apple has long been hiring human editors for the App Store and promoting curated lists of apps for various occasions, but the new change brings that approach to main, permanent App Store game categories. The launch of the new Twitter account could be yet another prong of its renewed focus on gaming as Apple moves to introduce more content curated by its editors across its products, including the new iOS 9 News app, Apple Music and iTunes, and the App Store.
